Quick Pool Care Tips
✓ Test Regularly
Test your water 2-3 times per week during swim season. Test chlorine, pH, and alkalinity at minimum.
✓ Maintain Proper Levels
Free chlorine: 1-3 ppm, pH: 7.2-7.6, Total alkalinity: 80-120 ppm, Calcium hardness: 200-400 ppm.
✓ Clean Weekly
Skim debris daily, vacuum weekly, brush walls and floor, and clean skimmer and pump baskets regularly.
✓ Run Your Pump
Run pump 8-12 hours daily during swim season. Circulation prevents algae and distributes chemicals.
✓ Shock When Needed
Shock weekly during heavy use, after storms, when water looks cloudy, or when chlorine levels drop.
✓ Balance Before Adjusting
Always balance alkalinity before adjusting pH. Alkalinity acts as a pH buffer and prevents pH bounce.
